This is an exciting time to join IQA, at a period of growth and diversification. IQA, in conjunction with Elecnor, as part of the Telecommunication market in the UK. We have been awarded a FTTH contract on behalf of City Fibre. As such we are looking to recruit experienced professionals in Newcastle for this long-term project.

**Fibre Supervisor - About the role**:
This role will include managing and planning the day-to-day Fibre Optic works on the City Fibre project. This role will be responsible for day-to-day site management of projects, material and resource planning for the delivery of works, budgetary control and resource supervision to ensure projects are delivered to agreed financial limits and meet Clients’ expectations in relation to programme, customer service requirements and quality.

**Day to day tasks are as follows (but not limited to)**:

- Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections with sub-contractors.
- Direct and supervise day to day operations of employees/sub-contractors ensuring appliance of common operational procedures.
- Ensure material requisitions are issued in adequate time to achieve the Construction Programme.
- Schedule, control and monitor all plant and materials on a weekly basis.
- Ensure all work is completed to programme.
- Liaise with the Project management team regarding cost control, waste management, variations and confirmation of instructions.
- Carrying out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities as detailed in the Company’s Policy
- Provide guidance on and monitor your team’s approach to safety rules and procedures.
- Liaise with third parties to ensure the smooth implementation of work.
- Maintain awareness of and conform to IQA’s SHE policy and issued safety instructions.
- Maintain site safety at all times and complete daily risk assessments where required.
- Provide daily costs of labour, material, sub-contractors and hours.
- Ensure all team members conform to instructions stated in Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Ensure that accidents and near misses are suitably reported, recorded and investigated, and that remedial action is carried out promptly.
- Report any concerns regarding SHE to the SHEQ team and your manager.
- Adhere to and implement IQA’s SHEQ values.
- Complete all work to high standards.
- Control all aspects of traffic management.
- Take charge in emergencies, ensuring correct procedures are followed.
- Conduct site
- Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001and ISO 14001.
- Create and maintain good relations with all key stakeholders
- Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company’s Site Waste Minimisation and Management policy.
- Previous Supervisory experience gained in similar industry
