ISS is growing The climate methodology team at ISS ESG seeks a climate transition risk lead to join immediately. As the Transition Risk Lead, you will provide expertise within the methodology team of ISS ESG's Climate Solutions unit. The methodology team is responsible for maintaining and developing climate products at ISS ESG, e.g., products relating to physical and transitional climate risks. As the Transition Risk Lead, you will be responsible for managing scenario methodology and product development, updates, and maintenance, as well as monitoring the soft and hard regulatory initiatives, that have relevance to scenario methodology. There is a special emphasis on fostering high-quality innovation in a fast-paced environment, efficient knowledge sharing, and teamwork across the organisation.

Your role in helping us shape the future
- Develop products related to climate transition risks using both qualitative and quantitative climate metrics.
- Manage climate related product development topics throughout the product development life cycle.
- Drive the methodology development and maintenance for climate scenario of ISS ESG Climate Solutions.
- Digest and present relevant climate related information to the wider organization.
- Integrate ISS ESG Climate scenario thinking across the ISS offering.
- Join client-facing conversations in an expert capacity.
- Foster talent within the team, with ability to contribute towards productive and inspiring work environment.
- Monitor global regulatory movements around climate scenario development to drive solution development for addressing those.

What you bring to ISS
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience relating to sustainable investment or corporate methodology development with a focus on climate change at either a financial institution, financial service provider, or within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative climate transition risk metrics.
- Knowledge of the sustainable finance sector and climate regulatory and reporting frameworks such as TCFD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, Net Zero, PCAF, etc., is a requirement.
- Knowledge of scenario alignment analysis, temperature scoring, physical and transition risk assessment, GHG accounting.
- Advanced university degree ideally in environmental science, engineering, economics, international relations or equivalent. Proven track record of successfully developing methodologies.
- Solid quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, familiarity with large data sets, and excellent conceptual thinking aptitude
- Familiarity with IAMs (integrated assessment models), macroeconomic modelling or financial analysis is a bonus.
- Excellent oral and written command of English; additional languages are a plus.
