We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced gynaecology clinical lead with a passion for improvement in the delivery of gynaecology care and pathways.

The mission of the GIRFT ( Getting it Right First Time) Midlands team is to identify and reduce unwarranted clinical variation, support the reduction of health inequalities, improve patient access and clinical outcomes, optimise productivity, ensuring the most effective and efficient use of resources.

You will be a key member of the Regional GIRFT team supporting the High-Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) agenda and the delivery of efficient outpatient and cancer pathways; all of which are at the vanguard of elective recovery.

You will have strong links to the GIRFT national clinical leads and other regional HVLC clinical leads, which will provide you with peer support, as well as learning and development opportunities in this role.

As a regional clinical lead, you will use your passion and expert knowledge to facilitate discussions and guide relevant stakeholders to ensure that our local population receives excellent and integrated gynaecological care.

**The role will involve**:

- delivering the High-Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) agenda highlighted in the planning guidance and the GIRFT HVLC Guide
- encouraging the adoption and adaptation of the standardised HVLC gynaecology pathways.
- deliver wide-scale adoption of proven approaches (BADS, HIIT lists, Right Procedure Right Place, Further Faster, ringfenced elective provision)
- promote the use of improvement tools and techniques to evaluate the impact of improvement programmes related to the HVLC agenda.
- promote the use of regular data analysis, measurement and evaluation, that is open-book, system-focused and consistent.
- Lead and promote a networking approach to build engagement that supports collective improvement and shared learning in gynaecology across the region.
- Build collaboration networks to facilitate co-production of implementation plans with ICSs and Trusts.
- share best practice, advice and guidance for the operationalisation of elective surgical hubs that will enable them to work to the top of their licence, delivering national targets in outcomes and productivity.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

You will lead a regional gynaecology Advisory Group that will bring together ICS’s, clinical, nursing, theatre and AHP leads to share practice, drive improvement and reduce clinical variation across the Midlands.

Please note this is a secondment position of 7.5 hours per week, from your host organisation, until 31 st March 2025 with potential opportunity to be extended further.
