**About the role**
Hospital stays can be quite a stressful and worrying time for our patients and their loved ones. A simple smile and high-quality service can put our patients at ease and make all the difference
At Sodexo our **Ward Hosts** are vital to making sure that we provide a great all-round service for our patients - they are the ones who engage with our patients the most, so its important that you make them feel welcome and relaxed.
You will assist in the preparation of patient food, communicating with the kitchen to ensure that all food orders are made and that any dietary requirements are provided for.
You will follow a strict cleaning schedule ensuring that the pantry is kept clean and tidy.
**Please note, due to the nature of this role you must be aged 18 and over.**

Our patients are at the heart of everything we do so it’s important that fantastic customer service is always at the forefront If you are a compassionate, friendly and approachable individual with great communication skills this could be the perfect role for you
We are looking for a strong team player who enjoys and works well as part of a team.
Food hygiene level 2 or above would be great, but don’t worry if you do not have this as we are still keen to hear from you
Main Responsibilities
The role is 37.5h a week, 5 days out of 7, between 7am and 8pm shift pattern 7-3pm / 12-8pm
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent customer focus to join our dynamic and friendly team on our Nuffield Health Hospital site in Guildford.
You will be required to assist in the preparation of all patient food services and to work with the ward teams to provide a high quality service to patients at required times
Good command of the English language with a passion for patient care and be able to liaise closely with ward staff
Awareness of food & hygiene standards
Must have a 'Can do' attitude
Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast paced healthcare environment and has a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
Previous Catering experience and knowledge is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
