Key Purpose of Role
- To undertake lifting equipment inspections, PPE equipment inspections & portable appliance tests (PATS), Access Equipment and field manager checks.
- To provide a quality, cost effective service which meets agreed customer requirements & current safety legislation.
- Calibration and repair of gas detection units.
- To follow process and return all appropriate engineering items via our triage centre.

Key responsibilities include.
- To meet agreed customer appointments with a view to completing all tests & inspections at one appointment.
- Completion of portable appliance tests (PAT) Access Equipment and field manager checks. GDU Calibration & lifting equipment inspections of field equipment appropriate to 'competent persons' as defined in national lifting regulations & legislation & Company instructions.
- Updating computer records via the Esi Test system.
- To maintain relevant documentation relating to example Scarp paperwork, lifting certificates.
- Servicing, minor repair & maintenance of mechanical aids.
- Maintaining contact with the test and repair helpdesks.
- To ensure that the mobile vehicle is completely equipped and with a full inventory to complete the days tasks.
- To maintain a safe working environment at all locations visited.
- To ensure security of the mobile vehicle & contents.
- To maintain environmental standards to comply with ISO14001.
- To carry out AMS quality checks at the Line Manager's discretion.
- To perform their duties in compliance with all EC, Company regulations & testing and repair handbook.
- To be a competent operator of all relevant computers-based systems.
- To ensure that standards for performance, safety & security are always maintained.
- To provide Cover for Forward Stock Location as and when required.
- To be an ambassador for SCP.
- To maintain an efficient inventory of ordering and replenishment of stock.
- To maintain and effective relationship with all Company lines of business and third party.
- To ensure all appropriate engineering items are passed through the warranty loop via Reading Triage centre.
- Undertake any other duties within the competencies of the grade.
- To perform detached duties at remote locations when necessary.
