Well respected company based in near Truro, Cornwall are looking to recruit a permanent Timber/Wood CNC Machine Setter/Operator.

Job Purpose: To produce products using manual and / or CNC lathes and mills, in accordance with drawing specifications to correct quality standards and to required timescales. To support the company in its initiatives to maintain efficient production ofhigh quality standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- On receipt of job pack, check profiles and raw materials are correct and fit for purpose. Ensure information in the pack is adequate to complete the job. Advise supervisor of discrepancies.
- Study drawings to determine tooling, check materials meet requirements and compile task sequences.
- Set up and operate machines, following correct procedures and selecting correct tooling. Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments and fixtures using hand tools where appropriate, adjusting and cleaning equipment as necessary to ensure parts remain within specifications.
- Examine completed components to ensure they are made within designated specifications, using precision measuring equipment e.g. gauges, calipers and micrometers and adjusting machines as necessary.
- Maintain written records as required e.g. job times, supplies, scrap. Communicate production schedule and progress updates to supervisor and others as required.
- Replace worn tools, using hand tools and sharpen dull tools using bench grinders.
- Where practical, carry out preventative maintenance on all equipment relevant to their role and/or advise supervisor of faults, oiling and greasing machines as required.
- Make efforts to improve workstation performance and production efficiency e.g. minimising/reducing set up times and striving to improve quality.
- Implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure safe methods of working and maintain good housekeeping practices to reduce hazards.
- During periods of high demand, the jobholder may be expected to work a reasonable amount of overtime and to move to cover other duties where skills allow.
