**Civic Attendant**:
Two vacancies have arisen for Civic Attendants to directly support the Lord Mayor, Sheriff and Deputy Lord Mayor of Chester and provide support to the wider civic function of the City of Chester and Chester Town Hall. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of civic life in the City, delivering and promoting traditions that span over 900 years. The Civic Attendants will be required to drive civic heads to their engagements, ensuring their safety and that they have all the information they require. They will play a key role in promoting understanding and participation in the Civic Life of the city, this will include giving history and regalia talks and supporting events. This is a busy service and outwardly focused, so a strong customer focused approach is essential, as is teamwork and attention to detail. The ability to offer clear and unbiased professional advice and to be tactful and diplomatic is also important. Training on all aspects of the roles will be provided.

The two roles require flexibility as there will be a requirement to work outside normal office hours, including regular weekend and evening work. The service demands are seasonal and will fluctuate throughout the year, which will result in a variable number of hours worked each month so both positions will operate on an annualised hours system but with the option to work overtime as and when required. One position is for 25 hours per week and the second 20 hours per week.
