MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe purpose of the ILS Advisor role is to provide high quality information, advice and guidance to both referring Health & Social Care professionals and vulnerable eligible customers who are considering/chosen to participate in Self Directed Support Scheme(s), Independent Living Schemes, Personal Health Budgets and self-funded/private clients, over a designated territory. It is the ILA role to support the customer to retain their independence, choice and control having chosen to receive and manage (with support) their devolved care budget to deliver their agreed/assessed outcomes.Whilst supporting a wide range of disabilities and communication needs, the ILA supports the customer to achieve a smooth end-to-end journey in the delivery of their employer responsibilities and compliance in meeting the stipulations of their care funding. This role will champion a “Single Point of Resolution Service” [SPRS] culture and ensure best practice is achieved, enriching the customer experience, and supporting delivery against all contractual performance measures. This will be provided through a balance of “Duty” ILA responsibilities in a home-based environment and flexibility to respond to client facing community support when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting a diverse caseload of vulnerable customers, providing information, advice, guidance and support on matters relating to Direct Payments, Personal Budgets, Appointeeships, Personal Health Budgets and any other funding streams as appropriate.
- Assisting individuals to manage their care package obligations within agreed budgets and to support with understanding and resolution of spending variations and assessed personal contribution payments. This will include actioning weekly exception reports and monitoring financial outcomes
- Advising and guiding individuals to manage their care, employer obligations and responsibilities, in relation to their chosen care package. Maintaining a good knowledge of current Employment legislation and delivering robust “being a good employer” guidance to support this activity.
- Promotion of contracted and/or chargeable services and providing customers and Health & Social Care professionals with full details of these services including the benefits of use and how they can be accessed
- Supporting the advertising and recruitment of personal assistant vacancies and following up on all aspects of PA recruitment including setting interviews, engaging with potential PAs, safer recruitment checks and job offer/rejections
- DBS - using online system to complete DBS checks for personal assistants when required
- Ensuring all communication and information provided is clear and concise and in a format that meets customer needs
- Maintaining and updating electronic customer records daily, ensuring these are stored and shared in accordance with GDPR and Data Security policies, and comply with standard operating procedures
- Maintaining excellent customer relationships. Actively supporting a culture of best practice and working with colleagues to ensure change is implemented quickly and efficiently.
- Support TL & team to ensure contractual KPI’s and PeoplePlus targets are met, maintaining delivery compliance, accurate recording of data and reports, and all complaints and safeguarding issues are escalated in accordance with company policies.
- Lone Working - taking responsibility for home & lone working in line with individual risk assessment and PeoplePlus lone working policy
- Undergoing training and development opportunities to aid business and organisational development, including identifying own development opportunities
- Undertaking any other duties as required which fall within the scope and responsibility of the post
RELATIONSHIPS
- To be a passionate & target driven individual with excellent interpersonal skills to develop and manage meaningful business relationships with individuals from a range of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work in a busy environment when deadlines need to be met.
- Experience in establishing strong area networks with professionals, key stakeholders, Third sector services and local community groups.
- Ability to effectively support ILS service delivery and question and/or challenge Care professional s/Customers when boundaries become blurred or confused.
