**Job Title**: Technology Support Officer - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ

**Salary**: £37,744 to £42,631 plus a location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £37,744 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £42,631 will be via incremental progression.

**Combating threats. Protecting the public. Keeping the country safe. Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) plays a critical role in national security - and you could be part of their vital work. As a Technology Support Officer, you’ll help to deliver vital ICT projects so CTP can perform at its best. By supporting systems of national importance, you’ll play your part in safeguarding the UK.**

This is a chance to work on diverse ICT projects and programmes at Counter Terrorism Policing HQ (CTPHQ). You’ll support a variety of core areas, which could range from** **Business Analysis, System Analysis or ICT Architectural Design and Delivery to ICT Project and Programme Management, ICT Testing, Security Design or Accreditation. You’ll therefore need a good understanding of the full IT project lifecycle, as you could be involved at any stage. **Vetting**

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) **OR** Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

**Essential For the Role, e.g., qualifications, licenses, languages, training**

**Essential Criteria**
- Excellent written skills, clear report writing and the ability to present information appropriately by audience
- Experience of working within secure technology-based projects and programmes enabling business change
- Experience and some knowledge of developing/maintaining governance, and the correct and efficient use of ICT standards across multiple projects
- Ability to work under pressure and to turn-round communications to meet tight deadlines

**Desirable Criteria**
- Degree qualified in a relevant ICT discipline
- Knowledge and some experience of managing risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
- Project management qualification e.g., PRINCE and ITIL knowledge
