Chestnut Court Care Home provides care for 23 residents in a comfortable, safe and homely environment and is based in the centre of New Milton, Hampshire. The home is part of Beritaz Care which is a small, well established family owned group with care homes in Surrey, Hampshire and Dorset.
Chestnut Court is at the beginning of an exciting extensive refurbishment programme and is looking for an individual with solid, demonstrable experience to provide high standards of health and safety in the Home and maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
The role includes responsibility for the following:
- Safety checks and maintenance of accurate records
- Maintenance of the outside of the building
- Daily check of maintenance requests which will include general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including electrical, plumbing, minor joinery e.g. fitting shelves, repositioning hand rails, fitting new locks and latches, moving and handling furniture etc.
- Decorating and maintaining rooms to the high standards of the home
- Contacting and dealing with approved specialist contractors as appropriate
This is a special role because it gives you the chance to make a difference to our residents’ lives. The role will require you to go into residents’ rooms and therefore you must be comfortable around people living with dementia and be truly kind and considerate.
Previous experience: Experience of working in an H&S regulated environment
Knowledge of H&S, fire and electrical systems
Minor experience of plumbing and electrics
Experience in painting and decorating
Experience in routine maintenance
**Job Type**: Part-time (22 hours per week)
**Salary**: £10.75 to £12 per hour (according to experience)
