**An opportunity has arisen for an Environment and Energy Project Manager in the council’s Environment Strategy Team, a dynamic group of professionals committed to supporting the council’s response to the Climate Emergency based out of Endeavour Housein Ipswich. Working as part of a fixed term - 3 years (project), in return you will earn a competitive salary of £36,298 - £42,380 per annum (pro rata for part time).**

**The **Environment and Energy Project Manager**Role**:
Do you have the skills and experience to manage large multi agency, energy efficiency retrofit projects that will support Suffolk residents to reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions?

Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with partner organisations and private contractors at all levels?

The council has set challenging targets to achieve net zero emissions by 2030 for its own operations. It is also committed to collaborate with partner organisations to deliver the Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan with projects that support carbon reductionwithin individual homes, communities and businesses, supporting Suffolk’s transition to a net zero carbon economy.

**Your responsibilities as an **Environment and Energy Project Manager**:

- **leadership of a small team**:

- **delivery of projects to reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions by improving the energy efficiency of households**:

- **development of innovative business cases and funding models**:

- **management of a network of stakeholders and private contractors to develop and implement these projects**:

- **identification of external funding sources and submission of successful bids**:

- **taking responsibility for effective performance management and reporting key indicators**:

- **using up to date research, national policy and legislation to promote improved local policy and working methods**:

- **management of project budgets to ensure effective expenditure.**

**The Team**

The Environment Strategy Team is responsible for leading the council’s work to respond to the Climate Emergency to develop projects that support staff to make the changes required to achieve net zero emissions by 2030. The team collaborates with other publicsector organisations, the voluntary sector and private businesses across Suffolk to support projects that deliver carbon reductions in communities, businesses, and individual households which is guided by the recently published Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan.
