**Foreign Languages Assistant**

**Responsible To**: Assistant Subject Leaders of MFL

**Salary**:£15 an hour

**Contract**: 9 hours a week, fixed initially until April 2024

**Start Date**:ASAP

We are seeking a Foreign Language Assistant to support the students with Spanish within the MFL department.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
The person appointed would be required to carry out the following duties as directed by the Assistant Subject leaders of MFL:

- Work with the teacher in the classroom or with small groups in the MFL office supporting the teaching in the target language at KS3, KS4 and 5
- Plan, deliver and resource small classes for students to prepare them for the oral examination and improve overall language skills
- Carry out speaking mock exams and standardise this work as appropriate
- Assist to a fortnightly meeting with the MFL department to discuss progress and planning
- Participate in foreign languages events and enrichment activities (where appropriate)
- Encourage the use of the target language at all times, in formal and informal

interactions, to develop confidence and fluency
- Support MFL teachers in the creation and update of teaching resources
- Role model the Christian Ethos of Tring School
- Any other reasonable task directed
