Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator

This is a mixed role involving both general bookkeeping and payroll work for an independent accountancy firm based on the outskirts of Leeds.

The workload will be varied with the successful person gaining exposure to a wide array of clients for whom you will be assisting with their bookkeeping needs, management accounting and VAT.

You will be responsible for managing a varied client portfolio made up of businesses of varying sizes, processing payrolls of varying frequencies.

You will manage each of your clients’ payroll process entirely, liaising with them directly to gather information and resolve any queries.

Within this varied role, there will be opportunities for the successful individual to gain exposure to areas outside of payroll including involvement with things such as CIS and off pay-rolling benefits. The firm also provide a range bespoke services to clients, making this an attractive opportunity for someone seeking to utilise their payroll experience in a position which allows for more variety.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.

Prepare & submit VAT returns for a range of clients.

Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

Prepare financial management reports.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.

Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.

Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
