The post holder is required to undertake a range of tasks in supporting the outpatient phlebotomy service and Magnolia (pre-operative assessment), undertaking phlebotomy and COVID Swabbing along with supporting the clinic including basic clerical work booking and attending of patients appointments where no reception cover is available. There will scope to support with basic clerical duties covering the outpatient phlebotomy service and Magnolia on occasions should service provision require, although full training will be provided for the latter as required including patient centre and PAS. You must be flexible and hardworking with good communication skills to work in a busy, however, a rewarding environment, possess good team working skills and be able to work independently with your colleagues and senior members of the service. Employing a flexible working approach, you must be prepared to work the occasional weekend duties. This can be discussed at interview

**Responsibilities**:
To understand and comply with all policies of the Trust.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information, whilst actively contributing to the improvement of quality service to patients.
- Communicating effectively when giving/receiving verbal and written information.
- Phlebotomy / ECG / COVID swabbing duties within pre-op clinics and the outpatient clinics and surgical wards rotationally, supporting the admin team, covering reception on an ad-hoc basis.
- maintaining the safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the unit, whilst contributing to the efficient management of clinic resources, including ordering/monitoring of supplies, along with routine housekeeping activities.
- Supporting the phlebotomy service 8 - 12, on a rotational basis, the outpatient phlebotomy clinic until 4pm and to cover the Magnolia Suite at least 1-2 evenings per week until 1730.
- Other activities in support of Pre-op clinics as deemed appropriate by senior pre-op team members.

The key components of the role are to be able to be safe and competent at phlebotomy in line with ANTT guidelines, be prepared to be involved in COVID swabbing and some general administrative duties as required. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
