At the heart of our work is the Eleanor Glanville Institute the University’s strategic lead for EDI. The Institute is a unique ‘hybrid’ department where academics and professional services staff work together, forging researcher-practitioner collaborations to underpin our inclusive practices by research, to develop new robust interventions informed by research, and to evaluate our impact and progress towards achieving our ambitions.
Ideally, you will have a strong background (PhD, or almost completed) in social science and/or data management (such as psychology, sociology, social policy, information management, behaviour change), and experience of both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and evaluation methodologies.
We are particularly keen that our research posts provide pathways for early career academics to grow and develop their skills and opportunities.
We’d be very keen to hear from you if you are able to approach ideas and challenges in the field of EDI with openness to others’ approaches and perspectives, are keen to seek out new perspectives, and are able to contribute to the atmosphere of constructive challenge we want to build within the Institute and the University. You will need to be able to communicate to audiences, within and outside academia, issues in relation to EDI that are often personally testing.
