Thorn Baker is pleased to be working with a highly reputable, multi-faceted, main contractor to assist in the recruitment of several Site Engineers on the high profile A465 major highway project.

We are looking for permanent staff to join this 5 year, £600M project. Thorn Baker's client can offer stability, continuity and an enviable package to accompany the competitive salary.

As Site Engineer you will:

- Beresponsible for undertaking the setting out of the works in accordance with the construction drawings and ensuring the design is applied correctly.
- Take some of the responsibility for managingHealth & Safety, organising and supervising labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors.
- Ensure ITPs and QA documentation are completed, and inspections noted to the DSRs and ASRs.
- Undertake material take offs where required and ensure materials are ordered and reconciled.
- Conduct regular H&S checks and CDM audits.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, site inductions and safety briefings are correctly carried out.
- Ensure and maintain strict quality control procedures.

Thorn Baker's client is looking for someone with:

- Demonstrableroads/highways maintenance works ideally foratier one civil or recognised roads/highways contractor.
- CSCS Card(SMSTS / SSSTS - advantageous)
- Ideally Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering or Relevant industry qualification HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent.
- Knowledge of setting out using GPS and robotic EDM
