**Salary**:£45,585-£54,395 (a revised salary range for this grade of £48,350 to £59,421 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024).

**Number of Posts**:1

The appointee will be a world-class researcher in German Studies with a portfolio of publications. They will bring their research expertise Germanophone culture, literature, society, politics, or history to be a core part of our research environment. The post-holder will be expected to collaborate with other colleagues in the School as part of a broader effort to decolonise our curriculum and critical lenses.

Please note that while the School of Literatures, Languages & Cultures operates with a hybrid working model, all teaching is delivered in person and on campus.

**Your skills and attributes for success:
- PhD in a relevant area.
- Fluency in written and spoken German to degree level with excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English.
- Experience of teaching German Studies at university level with clear potential to enhance the student experience.
- A developing profile of international excellence in relevant research and publications.
- Evidence of ability to supervise student work at all levels. Experience teaching in interdisciplinary fields such as Intermediality would be an advantage.
