We are looking for a brilliant individual to join The Salvation Army, a fantastic top 5 UK charity, as a **Philanthropy Assistant **_(within The Salvation Army, this position is called Major Donor Fundraising Assistant)_** where you could soon be playing a vital role at the heart of our passionate and ambitious team. This is an ideal role to develop your career in high-value relationships & fundraising.

The Salvation Army is one of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known charities, fighting injustice and social inequality. As part of an innovative, collaborative team you will help us take philanthropy to new heights - building on our key thematic focus areas of Homelessness, Debt Advice, Employment Plus, Modern Slavery and anti-human trafficking, and supporting local corps in the community.

This role is crucial in ensuring the effective and efficient running of our team. You will support our donor communication programme and will work collaboratively with others to ensure income is processed and supporters are stewarded to the highest standards. In return, we’ll provide a supportive work environment - and the time, tools, resources, and expertise needed to aid your development.
- A real desire to improve supporter’s experience with a charity which is deeply meaningful & important to them. The want to engage supporters better with our work, so they can see the impact they have, and can make, on the lives of those who need our support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication skills to your audience.
- Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise your tasks to effectively meet your objectives to the expected quality standards and time scales with mínimal supervision, and willing to take the initiative when required.
- An aptitude for fundraising - and the desire to make a difference in the lives of those in need through the work of The Salvation Army.

**_ _**_This is a permanent position based at Territorial Headquarters (THQ) currently located at 101 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN. By October 2023, the current office in Newington Causeway will be vacated, moving to Denmark Hill SE5. New flexible working arrangements are being developed in Central London area to reflect the changed world of work. The new building has also been designed to be accessible and suitable for use by people with disabilities in line with current government legislation._**
