**Job overview**:
As an Advanced Pharmacy Assistant you will be supporting newly developed progression opportunities in a specialist technical area.

Already having substantial experience in aseptic preparation you will be ready for the next step in your career.

Using this experience and knowledge you will be responsible for the supervision of other members of the aseptic team during production sessions ensuring that GMP is upheld at all times, providing essential communication of information to the Chief Technician and supporting the training of newer members of the team.

Your own training will be structured and you will be fully supported in your development, there is also the necessity for enrolment on the SMT qualification for the right person.

You must be patient focused and motivated by doing the right thing every time in a busy but friendly and rewarding environment.

**Main duties of the job**:
To provide direct supervision and organisational duties within the cleanrooms including staff and workflow and supporting areas of the aseptic service to ensure efficient and safe delivery of aseptically prepared products.

Preparing a range of aseptically prepared products in Isolators and Laminar Flow Cabinets.

Training new staff whilst instilling fundamentals of GMP.

Documentation of observations and training records. Liaising closely with Chief Technicians managing daily workloads.

Producing accurate documentation for worksheets/labels using pharmacy software systems.

Providing on call support on a rotation basis.

- Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Level 3 or equivalent or be willing to undertake.
- Level 2 NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- 4 GCSE’s inc Maths and English

**Desirable criteria**:

- Science Manufacturing Operative (SMO) qualification

**Registration**:

- RSciTech or Eng Tech, or GPhC

**Skills and abilities**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Substantial GMP Pharmacy experience and or substantial experience in industrial/ or Pharmacy setting
- Proven supervisory and organisational skills.

- Excellent knowledge in principles of cleanroom behaviours, GMP, COSHH and ASU procedures

- Attendance of Primary Level Aseptic Services Training.
