**About this role**

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join our energy consultancy team based in our Perth or Edinburgh office. They will work with an established team who tackle a wide range of energy projects across the UK and occasionally overseas.

The job holder will have the opportunity to work on key technologies such as wind, hydro, solar PV, battery storage, gas CHP, biomass, energy from waste, electric vehicles and heat pumps.

The role offers great variety and will encompass a diverse spectrum of work including; Option and Lease Negotiations for wind farms and solar farms. Strategic energy consultancy on micro-grids. Feasibility studies on renewable energy installations and valuationsand transactions of energy infrastructure.

A minimum of four SQA Highers at Grade BBCC plus Nat 5 English and Maths at C or a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related discipline plus suitable academic qualifications or a Modern Apprenticeship or college qualification in a related discipline.

We will look for an entrepreneurial attitude and ability to consider commercial aspects of a project. The Ability to present and communicate information and analysis in a logical and engaging way and a confident and professional appearance and approach.

**How you’ll make an impact**

Supporting the team in a variety of tasks including:

- Assisting in representation of property owners in promoting sites for renewable
- energy development opportunities
- Assisting in working with clients’ solicitors to agree terms for option and lease
agreements for renewable energy projects, access or cable rights
- Assisting infrastructure and renewable energy developers to build their pipeline
- of projects by identifying and securing sites and subsequent project
-management
- Assist the wider team in valuations, transactions, management or energy audits
- Support commercial negotiations by collecting comparable information
- Working with colleagues to assess renewable energy opportunities on clients’
property portfolios
- Policy analysis and research of key technologies/sectors
- Assisting in report and tender writing
- Develop their own network
- Be able to travel and attend meetings across the UK and Ireland

Good communication and organisational skills are vital to succeed as an Apprentice. You will need the ability to manage a varied workload working as part of a team while also having the ability to use your own initiative, and be passionate about deliveringthe best service possible for your team and clients.

**Training**

5 year training programme (Level 6 Apprenticeship), which includes a part time undergraduate degree (3 years) and an APC training programme (2 years, enrolled in year 4) leading to become a Chartered Surveyor with an RICS qualification.

On the job training is provided to ensure all the required knowledge and experience is obtained throughout the 5 year apprenticeship to qualify successfully.
