Our school is one of six primary and secondary schools within the NEAT Academy Trust family of schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East. We have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice.

Benfield School is a fully inclusive 11-18 school with a distinct ethos and a strong sense of support and loyalty. Excellent relationships between students and staff and a purposeful learning environment are evident in lessons and around the modernised site. With this foundation, students have a strong platform to be confident and happy and are able to achieve their aspirations.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher to join the Learning Support Department as Deputy SENDCo. The Learning Support Department is a large and integral part of the school, supporting students with additional needs (20% of the school population).

We are looking to welcome a new member of the team who has the vision, drive and determination to contribute to improving outcomes for young people. We require someone with in-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to be creative and forward thinking in their approach to supporting KS3 students. This role is vital in ensuring successful transition and readiness for learning at the start of both KS3 and KS4.
