Retail Butcher

**The Role**

The Buffalo Farm is looking for an experienced butcher to join our retail butchery team working within our concession counter at Craigie’s Farm, South Queensferry.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our offering at Craigie’s after a full refit of the butchery counter within Craigie’s retail site.

We are looking for a motivated, positive individual who is passionate about great products, fantastic service and has a proactive attitude to work.

Having a minimum of 3 years’ experience in butchery - you must be able to -:

- Independently run the counter to a high standard.
- Demonstrate the ability to offer inspiring displays showcasing the best of our products, whilst maintaining quality and controlling stock through accurate ordering and waste management.
- Have the knowledge and ability to make & follow recipe specification to produce sausage, burgers, and added value products.
- Show excellent customer service skills, being able to sell, offer advice and guidance on product choice.
- Offer great communication to both The Buffalo Farm and Craigie’s Teams.

Full time colleagues work a 10-hour shift, 5 days out of 7. Shifts are normally 7.30 am to 5.30pm but this is dependent on requirements.

The Buffalo Farm is an exciting fast-growing butchery and dairy business. Based just outside Kirkcaldy Fife. The home of Scotland’s largest water Buffalo herd, our unique point of difference. We are proud to offer a true farm to fork experience.

We have 3 retail outlets, offer a home delivery and collection service and supply wholesale to a growing number of farm shops. The business has over 70 employees working between the Farm, Butchery, Bakery and Admin team, as well as our newly opened dairy.

Our products have won many awards including 3 great taste awards, and Scottish Food and Drink, Meat Supplier of the year 2017.

**Salary**: From £27,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Queensferry, EH30 9AR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Butchering: 3 years (required)
