**Locum Specialist Registrar (SPR) in Emergency Medicine**
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Locum Specialist Registrar (SPR) in Emergency Medicine to join our dynamic and dedicated Emergency Department (ED) team. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the ED.
Key Responsibilities:
**Clinical Duties**:
- Provide timely and effective medical care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnostics, and treatment plans for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
- Perform and interpret clinical examinations, investigations, and procedures.
- Participate in resuscitation and critical care procedures.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
**Supervision and Training**:
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, providing guidance and educational opportunities.
Participate in teaching sessions for medical students and other healthcare professionals.
**Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Contribute to departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities.
- Ensure compliance with NHS Trust policies and procedures.
**On-Call Duties**:
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours emergency care as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
**Essential**:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- Completion of Core Medical Training (CMT) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Emergency Medicine.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
**Desirable**:
- Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM) or Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM).
- Additional certifications in trauma care (ATLS), pediatric life support (APLS), or other relevant areas.
- Experience in teaching and supervising junior medical staff.

Pay: £65.00-£80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 per week
