Shifts: Mornings/ Afternoons rotating (06.00am - 14.30pm then 14.00pm - 22.30pm)
Rates: £24.28 Umbrella per hour plus optional Saturday available £37.26 per hour umbrella per hour
Hours per week: 40 hours per week plus overtime
Duration: Ongoing
Start date: Immediate
Client Summary:
One of the UKs leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products and rolling stock based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Bogie/Wheelset Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and refurbishment of rail vehicles.
Position Summary:
Stripping and refitting bogies and wheelsets for the Rolling Stock industry. You will be working in teams to breakdown mechanical systems and wheelsets, diagnose defects, refit and rebalance before rebuilding and refitting components.
Roles can include:

- Bogie and component strip down and rebuild.
- With mínimal supervision undertake overhaul and repair of the allocated wheelsets/bogies/components adhering to the requisite processes and procedures
- Working from engineering drawings to strip, replace and refit components.
Person Profile/Experience:

- A strong mechanical background is required.
- People from HGV / large engine's / rolling stock assembly / REME / automation etc. backgrounds ideal.
- Understanding of engines / hydraulics / pneumatics in plant or heavy goods considered.
- Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment
- Experience of basic fault finding
- Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
- Ability to understand and care for tools, equipment and PPE
- Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications
- Good attitude and willing to work flexibly (overtime available)
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 (or similar in engineering)
