**Associate Professor in Travel Behaviour and Analysis**:

As Associate Professor, you will carry out research, teaching and management as well as contributing to academic leadership in the field of travel behaviour with specific emphasis on active travel.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of an internationally renowned body of research in the area of travel behaviour and active travel and will establish a clear strategy for a step change in the research agenda to promote sustainable and socially just futures. You will use that research to enhance our world-class teaching at postgraduate and undergraduate levels across the programmes at the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) and more widely within the Faculty of the Environment.

You will be able to demonstrate an excellent international academic reputation for and track record of high-quality and innovative research activity around travel behaviour research with a specialism in active travel analysis. The post holder will be a member of academic staff in the Institute for Transport Studies, which has significant strengths in travel behaviour and related policy areas.

Policy impact is at the core of our work and we have developed a body of research into the link between behaviour, active travel and policy measures that is widely recognised by and developed in collaboration with industry bodies, national and local government and non-governmental organisations, with funding from a range of sources including EU, DfT, and UK research councils, and we are looking to develop this further.

You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have strong analytical and statistical skills, with particular background and experience in primary quantitative social research using quantitative survey techniques and/or combining with quantitative secondary data from a range of sources; and knowledge of qualitative social research and methods and the possibilities of using in mixed methods research.
