**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Day to day responsibility for the two analytical laboratory.
- Direct responsibility for supervision of laboratory staff concerned with bulk and finished products testing, raw material testing, complaints testing and validation samples.
- Ensure efficient use of resource and prioritisation of testing according to production and customer requirements.
- To ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained within the laboratory.
- Assist in analytical method development as and when required.
- Ensure that the department is effectively resourced at all times.
- Interacting with site management team and / or external parties as and when needed.

**Health and Safety**
- Ensure a thorough knowledge of your Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Always wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Take responsibility for your own PPE ensuring appropriate storage and care.
- Always strive to work in a manner safe to yourself and others and report any hazards immediately.
- Ensure all staff and visitors operates in compliance with Safety regulations
- Full responsibility for the safety of team members
- Actively participate in addressing Safety, Health and Environmental issues affecting the production areas, ensuring the relevant S, H&E checks are carried out.
- Full knowledge of the Plant Emergency Procedures and associated responses are required

**Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience**

**Qualifications**
- A Chemistry degree (or equivalent) and background is essential.
- Ability to produce high quality statistical analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including high quality report writing.
- A commitment to improving quality.

**Specific Knowledge, Experience & Skills**
- Ability to manage, organise and motivate individuals.
- A combination of analytical, communication and reasoning skills to accurately and efficiently run a lab is a must.
- Extensive experience in GC chromatographic techniques.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be IT literate and be able to help plan, create and implement relevant policies and procedures.
- Be involved continuous programs / events as and when required.
