Manchester, United Kingdom Manchester Metropolitan University Full time

**About the Chaplaincy**:
This is an exciting time for the Manchester Metropolitan University Chaplaincy. We have recently completed the development of our new chaplaincy offices and we are now seeking to recruit a new multi-faith team. At the same time, we are raising the profile of chaplaincy on campus, ensuring that students of faith feel a sense of belonging, providing support and pastoral care as required and ensuring that our contribution to student life and student achievement is widely recognised.

We already have a team of two Muslim chaplains and an administrator. We are also developing positive relationships with external chaplains of other faiths who we welcome on campus and enjoy working alongside.

The chaplaincy sits within a wider range of student support provision, including our Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, and is therefore one of a number of options for students who wish to access support. This ensures that those students with the most complex needs have access to specialist provision. This is a link to our student support provision.

**About the Role**:
While some support will be provided to staff the focus of the role is our students, and this will include those of faith and none. It is essential that our chaplain is comfortable working with the student population in accordance with University policy and procedures.

**About You**:
Key to the role is our multi-faith approach so an ability to work alongside those of different faiths and traditions is essential.

You will:

- be flexible in your approach and willing to undertake the various tasks associated with the role, from working with students in distress and the provision of 1 to 1 support, to leading worship, and acting as a point of expertise within the University.
- be able to develop and promote new initiatives and opportunities for engaging with and enhancing the experience of our students.

A commitment to all students will be essential, as the role will involve working with those of all faiths and of none.
