We currently have two dynamic positions for Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineers within our Maritime Electronic Warfare Programme(MEWP) team here at DE&S. The MEWP capability will deliver digital sensors for electronic warfare surveillance across the full threat spectrum together with an electronic warfare command and control system. This will assist in warfighting decision making,to enable the launch of associated electronic warfare counter measures.
As one of our Maritime Electronic Warfare Engineers, you will work on major EW acquisition programmes and will have end-to-end exposure of project life cycles. These progressive roles offer vast opportunity to impact the successful delivery of advanced surfaceships EW systems supporting UK Navy Command.
Due to security, these roles are open to sole UK nationals only. Please note that regular travel to MOD Abbey Wood will be required for all successful applicants.

**Responsibilities
**In these exciting roles, you will provide lead engineering support to MEWP projects across assessment, demonstration and manufacturing phases. You will manage EW technology,system engineering tasks, risks and technology roadmaps for MEWP acquisitionprogrammes, whilst challenging technical assumptions to identify improvement opportunities.

Other responsibilities will include:

- Supporting and managing project phase engineering activities from concept to delivery, including trials planning and management, installation planning, schedule and transition into service management in accordance with the contract schedule
- Leading on contractor’s design reviews ensuring compliance for both hardware and software for the electronics warfare sensors, counter measures and command and control systems
- Developing requirement definition documents for EW
- Assisting with the production, acceptance and resultant configuration control of an requirements acceptance procedure (verification, validation requirements matrix) created by industry in accordance with an agreed integrated trials evaluation & acceptanceplan
- Managing a small team of engineers, as well as collaborative working in a multi-disciplined stakeholder environment
- Developing safety and environmental arguments and artefacts within your area of responsibility

**Person Specification
- You will either hold Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, be able to achieve this within 12 months of starting in the post, or be able to demonstrate the equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- You will have experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes
- You will have experience of systems engineering in the context of electronic warfare, such as weapons systems, radar systems, combat systems, software integration, communication systems, counter measures, or spectrum management

It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

- Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
- Relevant experience from a maritime environment
