We are currently looking for a passionate, customer-focused individual to join our small, close-knit team at our Peter Rabbit & Friendsshop and café in the heart of Keswick.
As Café Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of the Café. Although our shops are well established, the café is the baby of the family, and about to celebrate its 1st birthday We are eager to build on its success and to embrace a number of opportunities for growth. As such, this role offers an exciting scope to ‘make the role your own’ - we’re looking for an outgoing, ideas-person who can identify opportunities and design and deliver a programme of seasonal events.
Our shops and café are inspired by our love of the Lakes, as well as celebrating the legacy of one of the Lake Districts’ best loved residents and children’s author, Beatrix Potter. We’re also passionate about our environment, and our products are ethically and environmentally sourced. Predominantly our shops cater for children - providing products to play, learn and discover - and our café seeks to offer a child-friendly space in which our small customers can be inspired in play whilst their adults relax

**The Job**
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of the café including, but not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
- Delivering a friendly, welcoming service, personally interacting with customers, and ensuring that high standards of customer service are always maintained.
- Identifying new opportunities for seasonal events and concepts to drive sales. Planning and delivering the agreed events programme.
- Identifying opportunities to attract and build a local clientele.
- Supporting the creation and delivery of content, for social media engagement initiatives.
- Planning a simple, yet creative menu of hot and cold snacks and beverages
- Using a till to take orders and process payments.
- Preparing and delivering food and beverages to tables, attractively presented, and ensuring standardised portions and quality.
- Providing for special dietary requirements / preferences of customers where necessary.
- Clearing tables, wiping surfaces, and operating dishwashers to ensure ample glassware or crockery is available.
- Maintaining a clean and organised café, responding quickly to spills or other health and safety hazards, and food safety and hygiene protocol.
- Ordering food and consumables: re-stocking the pantry, fridges, and freezers as necessary, and properly storing food items at appropriate temperatures.
- Cashing up as required in connection with the operation.
- Coordinating and managing health and safety for the café, working in a safe manner, raising any health and safety concerns immediately. Also, being aware at all times of the health and safety of customers and any other persons on site.
- Monitoring and training team members
- Undertaking other tasks as required from time to time which may contribute to the successful operation of the shop and café, i.e. assisting in the shop on occasions.
- Being a key holder and taking responsibility for opening/closing in accordance with rota.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week
**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
