**Street Based, Place Improvement Team - Job Description**

Working to an action plan agreed with the BID Manager, assist the business community of the area to achieve the aims of the BID business plan and in particular in responsive to Objective 2 ‘Welcoming and Safe’.

Job Role:
You will be part of a forward thinking team that deliver the very best in all areas, Customer Services, Security, Cleaning, Improvements and General Facilities. You will need to be a strong communicator and team player with a great work ethic. You will need to have a can do attitude, excellent attention to detail, be able to multi task and not be afraid of getting your hands dirty.

The role of the Street Based Team, as part of Halifax Business Improvement District, is to ensure Halifax is a safe, welcoming and attractive place to be.

The role requires both practical and physical work, with a good understanding of health and safety.

Ideally, team members will be SIA licence holders, although this could be negotiated.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
To work to an action plan agreed with the BID Manager, preparing own daily plan and attend weekly briefings with the BID Manager and team.

To understand the offer within the BID area which includes businesses, partners, events and street infrastructure.

To identify potential areas of work within the BID area and, working alongside other BID team members, identify appropriate actions.

To work with other members of the BID team, under the guidance of the BID Manager, to support activity including., but not limited to, In Bloom and Purple Flag Accreditation.

To ensure that when work is undertaken on behalf of a business, there is feedback to that business.

To engage with businesses in the BID area, to collate contact information and to keep them appraised of BID activities.

To assist in the delivery of events in the BID area and to attend business meetings related to such initiatives at the direction of the Manager.

To assist in the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour in the BID area and to attend business meetings related to such initiatives at the direction of the BID Manager

To liaise with key partner agencies where appropriate to assist in the delivery of the above tasks

To maintain and store equipment properly, ensuring adherence to personal responsibilities in the areas of risk management and health and safety, including compliance to COSH regulations.

To refer any requests by the media for comments or information to the Manager who will deal with as appropriate.

Represent the BID as a front line member of staff and demonstrate a polite and customer focused nature towards members of the public.

Develop a sound knowledge of the practical workings of tools and equipment required for the role.

Carry out basic administration tasks timely and accurately e.g personal timesheets, business interactions.

To work under own direction and initiative where required.

To attend training courses as directed by the Manager.

Any other duties deemed appropriate by the BID manager and board of Directors.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Halifax, HX1 1RJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
