**Strategic Buyer (NPI)**

SF recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing business in the Birmingham/North Warwickshire area to recruit a Strategic Buyer. The role is a newly created to role to support the strategic development of the purchasing function & will be involved in NPI projects & strategic sourcing activities (Direct & Indirect spend areas)

**Responsibilities**:

- Supplier negotiation using negotiation techniques including individual supplier meetings and supplier summits.
- Diverse role managing direct materials spend as well as various indirect spend areas.
- Work on cost savings initiatives and manage the savings database to record all savings achieved.
- Fulfil auditing and compliance requirements related to Procurement processes.
- Attend monthly location business reviews.
- Support the Purchasing Manager in different tasks i.e., reporting, preparation of events like Kaizen and supplier summits etc.
- General administrative duties as associated with the running of a procurement office.
- Work with departments to develop and provide ongoing support for Aftermarket and NPI
- Maximize commercial advantage for the group via the deployment of effective sourcing strategies spend for locations or the group in accordance with KPI’s.
- Provide effective contract negotiation generating savings and reducing costs in alignment with business needs and market trends.
- Minimize commercial risk through the implementation of robust commercial and contractual terms,
- Ensure continuity of supply by supporting the day-to-day operation of all Locations
- Interact with other functions within the group including, maintenance, IT, HR, Commercial, Quality Finance to achieve business objectives.
- Fulfil auditing and compliance requirements related to Procurement processes.

Skillset Requirements

3+ years in an end to end purchasing role, ideally within manufacturing.

Demonstrable ability to take cost out & implement contracts/t&c's.

Well versed in managing a diverse range of spend areas/materials/services.

NPI experience desirable but not essential
