**Background**

Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS) is a Quality accredited, registered charity offering support to individuals and families who are affected by domestic abuse since 1990. We support families who live/work in the Trafford and Salford area. We provide both intervention and prevention services and work in partnership with other voluntary organisations to support families across Greater Manchester.

This role is a new role for TDAS and therefore we are looking for an experienced Head of Finance and Business to support our growing organisation.

Job Summary

As a member of the Executive team, the Head of Finance and Business Support will provide strategic financial and business services direction and oversight across the organisation, working closely with the CEO, Director of Operations and Service Managers as TDAS embeds its latest Strategy 2023 - 2026. You will lead on financial planning, management and reporting and work closely with the CEO to provide effective financial direction to the Treasurer, Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees.

You will be responsible for efficient policies, procedures, systems and practices to support the smooth running of the organisation and will be proactive in developing new systems and services to meet the needs of the organisation as it grows. You will be responsible for overseeing outsourced providers, including IT and Telecoms.

You will also manage external advisors and relationships with banks, auditors, legal, tax and other business services providers, ensuring value for money, contractual compliance, evaluation and quality assurance processes. You will also ensure compliance with Charities Commission and legal responsibilities.

You will oversee and provide excellent business service and support to TDAS staff. You will have experience of financial management, efficient administrative systems and a proven ability to both motivate and be a part of effective teams. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be proactive and solution-focussed, and knowledgeable about or be able to access information about IT and other business services matters.

Responsibilities and Duties

Strategy Planning
- Together with the Executive Team, develop, deliver and review the strategic business plan and annual action plans, ensuring congruence across all services and that TDAS values and strategic outcomes are evident in practice across projects.
- Provide clear inspirational financial and business services leadership that embodies the organisation’s values and ensures individuals and teams are aligned to the organisation’s overall strategy, annual business plans and budgets, and ensuring the development of your direct reports to achieve this.
- Align financial and business resources to deliver the financial policy framework within agreed limits, including reserves, expenses and funder requirements. Manage and coordinate the work of the Finance and Operations team, including to support TDAS’s service delivery
- Ensure TDAS has clear and appropriate business services, policies and frameworks, including managing external relationships, with regards to Properties, IT and telecoms, Legal and tax, Banking, Audit, Insurance and other business support services
- Work with Directors and Senior Managers to ensure all TDAS premises are fit for purpose, accessible and appropriate for high-quality service delivery, ensure health & safety compliance, lease and other requirements are met.
- Work with Directors and Senior Managers to ensure the continuity, high quality and improvement of TDAS services in accordance with TDAS quality management system and any other relevant quality standards e.g. Women’s Aid England National Quality Standards and/or Safe Lives Leading Lights

Financial Management
- Lead on budgeting and forecasting processes to determine resource allocation to organisation priorities, whilst maintaining appropriate reserves, and deliver the business plans agreed by the Chief Executive and the board.
