We are a pre-school in Romford looking to employ 1 permanent Level 2-3 pre-school practitioners (23-27 hours a week)

£9.50 per hour.

We are open 5 days a week, for 38 weeks a year (term time only).

Opening hours 9.00 am - 2.30 pm Monday to Thursday

9.00 am -12.00 pm Friday

**Purpose of job**:
To work as a key worker and as part of the pre-school team in the 3/4 year
old room under the direction of the pre-school leader to provide safe, high
quality education and care for young children.

**Main duties**:
To help set up the 3/4 year old room for the daily program ensuring that it reflects the children’s interests and needs. Help tidy away at the end of the session.

Welcome new parents into the setting (3/4 year old room) ensure that all background information is collected from parent’s i.e. Toileting Routine, Daily Routine and All About Me. Discuss with parents the benefits for the children from obtaining this information. This will ensure individual children’s needs are recognised and good quality care that is unique for that child is provided.

Give parents copies of Settling-In Policy and Keyworker Policy discuss with parents the settling-in procedures and the Keyworker Role.

Complete a Settling-in document and share this information with parent’s daily/weekly.

To assist with the planning of the curriculum in the 3 Year Old Room on a termly and weekly basis.

To advise the pre-school leader of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.

To attend staff meetings.

To assist with the planning of the curriculum in a weekly and termly basis.

To be committed to continue with Professional Development in discussion with management. To attend in-service training.

To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job.

Person Specification - Essential criteria

1. Willingness to learn and undertake professional development

2. NVQ level 2 or Level 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development or equivalent level 2/ 3 childcare qualification.

3. Previous experience of working with young children.

4. Commitment to equal opportunities.

5. Commitment to young children and families and ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

6. Friendly, flexible approach.

7. Health cleared for the role.

8. Ability to work on own initiative

9. To be flexible in hours and duties in order to meet the needs and requirements of the pre-school.

10. Full and valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

11. Successful applicants will need to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check and provide two satisfactory references prior to their employment.
