**Piano Teacher**

**We are currently recruiting a part-time employee to join our team of tutors at Edinburgh School of Music. The teacher will be required to teach piano lessons at our studio in Meadowbank. The role will include a full day of lessons on a Saturday.**

**About Edinburgh School of Music**

ESM is an independent music school based in Edinburgh offering one to one music lessons and group lessons to children and adults. Our ethos is to bring the love of music into all our student’s lives in a fun and enjoyable way. Students learn all the necessary skills to pass exams, perform with confidence and compose their own music and songs.

**About the role**
- All teachers must hold a degree in Music and/or grade 8 in their first instruments
- Teachers must posses musical competence and knowledge of their instruments, plus a commitment to, and understanding of, the teaching and learning process
- Have at least 2 years teaching experience
- Full PVG disclosure (or be willing to become PVG members)
- The ability to teach a second instrument would be desirable but not essential.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- teaching a mix of group and individual lessons from students age 4+.
- Planning and preparing lessons in relation to individual pupils' needs and acquiring appropriate teaching materials and resources
- teaching music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils
- ensuring up-to-date knowledge and awareness of examination requirements and preparing pupils for suitable examinations
- motivating pupils and encouraging progress
- Preparing students and assisting with termly concerts

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: £19.00-£22.00 per hour
