**Job summary**:
RAF Benson is home to the Puma Force, which deploys worldwide in support of training and operations. We also house the Puma and Chinook Operational Conversion Unit, training all future Support Helicopter aircrew and numerous other operational squadrons and units that together provide helicopter support to the British Army and wider Defence in the UK, and across the world.
The media and Engagement Support Assistant (M&E A) role works directly for and with the Station Media and Engagement Officer (M&E O) to coordinate and support the engagement activity at RAF Benson where no two days are the same as the office deals with a wide range of communication and engagement activities for the lively operational Station and all its assets.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
**Job description**:
- Liaison with all sections on Stn, Air Cmd, JHC and Army to plan, coordinate, produce and deliver Stn media and social media output in accordance with (iaw) all regulations.
- Act as the primary POC on Stn to respond to all flying complaints in a timely manner iaw 2016DIN03-006, including providing information to support Secretariats dealing with low flying complaints as required.
- As the Stns primary webmaster, managing all content on the public website, ensuring accuracy and appropriate use of the site to meet all comms objectives.
- Provide engagement direction and assistance to Stn events and visits.
- Initial Conduit for all engagement activity collaborating closely with the Youth Activities Liaison Officer and Air Cadet Liaison Officer, to promote positive engagement activity with all youth audiences including Stn visits, Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics activities and help with recruitment, ensuring safeguarding is maintained at all times.
- Assist with all visits for recruitment to the Stn, work with the AFCO for the latest recruiting information and promote the Stn in the best light to potential recruits.
- Authorise relevant visits to lodger units, ensuring upward briefing where appropriate.
- Coordinate and deliver regular liaison with key local engagement audiences, building positive relationships.
- Action all public requests for information and support to public events iaw all regulations and the Stn's Engagement strategy
- Ensure RAF Benson's adherence to Defence branding regulations
- Provide immediate administration and media/engagement support for Crash and Major incident Plan and Mass Casualty Plan.
- Be conversant with and cover the duties of the M&E O when required.
**Person specification**:
Engagement is essential, whether internal or external. The Media and Engagement Office is responsible for planning and supporting the delivery of all Force engagement activity. This includes internal communications to around 1500 Whole Force personnel and over 1000 family members based on site, as well as delivering a vast array of external communications and engagements.
Alongside the internal communications, the office directs, oversees and supports the administration of all visits to the unit, all youth engagement activities and all media engagement, including output of social media. A lively unit, it will use the whole sphere of your communication and interaction skills and give experience in the large spectrum of communication specialisms.
