Play Worker

Playworker - Maternity Cover

**Main duties include**:
Ø Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment

Ø Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from classes and delivering them safely to parents or carers

Ø Setting up and clearing away tables, as well as play equipment before and after sessions

Ø Providing refreshments/snacks and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met

Ø Administering first aid when necessary (depending on training - which may be provided)

Ø Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities

Ø Helping with club administration, where necessary (registers etc.)

Ø Encouraging parental involvement in the club

Ø Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, schools and childcare and play related agencies

Ø Undertaking appropriate and relevant training

Ø Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure

Ø Taking responsibility for own Health & Safety and minimising own risks

Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm

**Salary**: £6.83-£10.23 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Chatham, Kent: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Nursery: 1 year (preferred)
- Management: 1 year (preferred)
