Why we want you: The Family Reunion team provides financial and practical assistance to refugees wishing to be reunited with their families. As an admin volunteer you will be part of the Family Reunion team, providing administrative support. Please note this role is not client facing; you will not be working directly with refugees.- Tasks: Supporting Family Reunion Project Officers with administration-
- Maintaining and updating case files on a database
- Working on small Family Reunion-related projects, depending on skills and experience
- Contacting third parties for signposting information or to request financial support- Skills: Good interpersonal and teamwork skills with sensitivity when dealing with clients
- IT literate, with confidence and experience using databases and Microsoft
- Able to communicate in English (both written and spoken) to a good level; knowledge of a foreign language used by the current local refugee population would be useful but not essential (such as: Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Amharic); statistics; working with interpreters; and research
- A desire to help refugees with sensitivity for cultural issues, including relating to gender
- Understanding of, and / or willingness to learn more about migration and conflict
- Prepare to continue professionally development in learning the scope of Family Reunion and eligibility requirements.
