Manchester, United Kingdom Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job overview

The new Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN) team are looking for highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioners to join our new service. The successful applicants will be part of an exciting new project to improve and expand services for people with CERN across the Manchester division of GMMH.

Successful applicants will join an optimistic and motivated team, with a strong emphasis on training, supervision and support. They will have a clinically-focussed role, delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to a small caseload of individuals with complex emotional and relational needs. They will provide compassionate leadership, support, consultation and supervision to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams; and provide training to the wider teams and services.

Applicants should hold a professional qualification such as Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Social Worker, or Registered Occupational Therapist. Experience working in a Community Mental Health Team is desirable, though relevant experience in other clinical settings would be considered.

In addition to excellent clinical skills and knowledge, we are looking for practitioners who can bring core values of optimism, collaboration and innovation to our team.

Senior Practitioners will facilitate Structured Clinical Management (SCM) for a caseload of up to 12 individuals with CERN, offering in reach clinical leadership, consultation and support to colleagues in community and urgent care teams.

With support from the Clinical Lead, they will deliver training and supervision to colleagues and services across Manchester; and facilitate the development of roles for people with lived experience to join our team as collaborators and co-producers of this new service.

Protected time will be provided for clinical supervision and CPD, with a range of training and development opportunities also available.

There is a requirement to travel within the Manchester area and we support the use of sustainable alternatives to lone driving.

Senior Practitioners will be required to work Monday-Friday and will also be expected to participate in the Bronze on call rota, providing leadership to colleagues outside of office hours. This can include weekends and public holidays.

Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over 6,400 members of staff, who deliver services from more than 160 locations.

We provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford, Trafford and the borough of Wigan, and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the north west of England and beyond.

Greater Manchester is one of the world's most innovative, original and exciting places to live and work. From the beauty of the surrounding countryside to the heart of the vibrant inner city with great shopping, entertainment and dining options.
