An opportunity currently exists to join a well established team at our base in Stanlow Refinery as a Berth Operator on a full time permanent basis, the nature of the role will be to undertake jetty and maintenance operations and any other work deemed capable or competent do carry out as directed by Briggs TES/Client, at all times complying with Briggs TES/Client regulatory and mandatory rules and regulations
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Connecting and disconnecting loading arms, hoses, spool pieces samplers
- Operating fuel valves
- Monitoring ship/shore interface including loading, unloading, discharging, de-ballasting and bunkering operations
- Safety checks in accordance with legislation
- Mooring and unmooring vessels
- Crane and Rigging operations
- Maintaining all jetty equipment and completing necessary paperwork
- Responding to all on site health and safety incidents including oil spill response
- Jetty housekeeping duties including general gardening, painting and cleaning
- Sampling vessels and pipelines - labelling samples and transporting to the laboratory for testing
Desirable:
- Experience of working on A COMAH site
- RYA Level 2 Powerboat (RIB) certificate or equivalent
- Plant Maintenance System experience
- COSHH assessments and Safety Data Sheets completion
- Competent operator of various types of plant and equipment related to hazardous products
- City and Guilds / BTEC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel or equivalent
The successful applicant must be flexible with working hours as a shift system is in place to meet the operational demands and hold a full UK current driving license or equivalent to operate manual vehicles.
