**Job title: Lecturer in A Level English (with the ability to teach English Language)**

**Position: Permanent, Full Time and part time positions available**
**Salary: £24,621 - £34,942 per annum pro rata - pay award pending**

The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 500 students on higher education programmes. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.

We are looking for a Lecturer in A Level English within our Academic & Creative Studies team.

Based in our A level department, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player. As well as relevant experience, you will be qualified with an English or related degree. You will have or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (DTLLS or equivalent).

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To deliver high quality teaching across the full range of the department’s A Level English provision including A Level English Language.
- Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the Department through such activities as open days and through liaison with local employers and schools.
- Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or willingness to obtain.
- Ideally has relevant teaching experience within FE.
- Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
- Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.
