Carriage Cleaner

The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways are two of the UK’s most popular heritage railways, located in the heart of picturesque Snowdonia. We operate trains daily from late March to the end of October.

We are looking for a number of carriage cleaners to work with the small team ensuring the excellent presentation of our carriages on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways.

**We can offer you**:

- £10.42 per hour for applicants aged 23 and over (National Living / Minimum Wage for age applies)
- Seasonal contract from Monday 20th March to the end of October 2023
- Full time (40 hours per week) or part time / job share positions
- The pro rata equivalent of 29 days paid holiday, inclusive of all bank and public holidays

The successful applicants will undertake a variety of cleaning tasks including cleaning carriages both internally and externally, and general cleaning duties including the station toilets. There are two positions available based at Boston Lodge, Porthmadog and one position based at Dinas station, near Caernarfon, however you may be required to work at other locations on occasion. You must be able to work cleanly and tidily; ideally you will have experience of commercial cleaning, however lots of enthusiasm and a willingness to work hard is all that’s required as full training can be provided.

**Core Skills**:

- Able to deliver excellent levels of cleanliness
- Good communication skills and a cheerful disposition are essential
- Able to work on own initiative or as directed
- Must be able to work alone or as part of a small team
- Must be willing to work outside in all weathers
- Must be punctual and reliable at all times
- The ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage as would knowledge of the railways and their passengers; and the local area.
