Our incredible home support team provide much-needed assistance, and social interaction. It’s not just cleaning and shopping, it’s cleaning someone’s place in the way they would clean it themselves if they could and remembering which sort of scones someone loved last time at the shop
- even if they’ve forgotten themselves.
It’s making a cup of tea just how they told you they like it, and breaking off from mopping the floor to help someone with hearing difficulties negotiate a tricky switchboard menu on the phone so they can pay a bill they’ve been worried about. It’s dusting while chatting, and sensing when to have a laugh and when to just get on quietly.

Following the pandemic, we have seen an increase in demand for our home support service, not only for the extra pair of hands around the house but the need for interaction with others to strengthen emotional connections and provide a sense of belonging to a community. Many of our clients have not left their homes for some time through the pandemic and have lost the confidence or physical ability to re-join society or manage the day to day tasks such as shopping.

We need to grow our Home Support Team, so that we can continue to help those who really need it.

Duties vary and are led by the client, but can include:

- Cleaning, using the client's equipment and products to clean all aspects of the client's property where required
- Laundry bed changing and ironing
- Shopping and running errands on the client's behalf can include; taking a list to the supermarket to get their weekly shop, putting shopping away, dropping post to post box, and general errands when required
- Collecting prescriptions
- Accompanying the client whilst they complete errands when required
- Light gardening and weeding
- Maintain accurate records
- Maintain regular communication with your line manager

This role will also provide clients with social visits to ensure they are not socially isolated and ensure their well-being on behalf of family members who are not living locally.

Our Team do not provide any personal care, and they do not work weekends, evenings, or bank holidays.

We carefully match our team members to our clients, and you’ll be visiting the same client(s) each time to ensure continuity. You must be willing to travel between sites and therefore having a driving licence and your own vehicle is essential for this role.
