Bringing it to the role._**
The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role within our payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll, providing expert guidance on complex payroll matters, while championing continuous improvement and tackling operational challenges head-on.

What you’ll do:_**
- Supporting Payroll Manager:
- Assist with legislative, upgrade & system requirement testing.
- Continue to challenge & review system processes.
- Dealing with system & operational challenges.
- Assist with the tax year end.
- Assist with updating procedures in accordance with SARBOX.
2. Monthly Payroll:
- Processing and payment of the monthly payroll
- Processing new starters, leavers, bonuses, yumbucks, contractual changes, statutory changes
- Production of validation & exception reporting
- Production of GL files
- Reconciliation and submission of PAYE & NIC for tax year end
- Processing and payment of the monthly store payroll
- Processing starters, leavers, personal and contractual changes, statutory pay
- Production of validation and exception reporting
- P&L queries and related internal accounting journals
- Production of GL files
3. Salaried Restaurant Payroll
- Responsible for processing and accurate payment of the weekly payroll
- Importing hours worked by hourly paid restaurant employees (paying approx. 7000) via RMF)
- Processing starters, leavers, personal and contractual changes, holiday pay, statutory pay
- Ensuring we comply with UK immigration rules for ID and work permits.
- Production of validation & exception reporting
- Production of GL files
- Production of labour report & associated queries
- Dealing with all payroll queries
- P&L queries and related internal accounting journals
4. Miscellaneous
- To be fully compliant with SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP, student loans, PAYE & NIC
- Dealing with external enquiries from HMRC, DSS/benefits, mortgages, copy payslips & P60.
- Reconciliation of payroll related control accounts
- 3rd party payments & reconciliations
- NMW increases.
- Responsibility for various import routines i.e. salaries, bonuses

- Confident and personable demeanour with the ability to work well under pressure.

- Strong organisational and time management skills required.
**_EXPERIENCE:_**
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in payroll administration, preferably within an in-house payroll function.
- You pride yourself on delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring the needs of both internal and external stakeholders needs are met promptly and professionally.
- Exceptional phone manner.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Capable of liaising effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
- You excel in managing a varied workload, demonstrating excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
