**Research Officer**

Are you looking for a temporary role to give you some work experience this year in agriculture? An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Innovation Team for a **Research Officer placement** based at our factory based in Barway, Cambridgeshire. The position has been created to support G’s pest monitoring function.

**Role Requirements & Responsibilities of our Research Officer**
- Supporting the coordination and management of G’s pest and disease intelligence and diagnosis network, using a range of pest traps and disease model platforms currently used by G’s Growers members. Including, but not limited to, maintenance of pest and disease monitoring equipment across multiple G’s sites (Cambs, Norfolk), basic pest identification, sample processing/postage, data entry/manipulation, and weekly reporting of population levels and trends to G’s Growers.
- Assisting with in-house agronomy trials (PA1 and PA6 desirable but not essential).
- Assisting with the marking out and preparation of study sites in the field.
- Assisting with assessing weed, pathogen, and insect populations in a variety of crop types.
- Preparation and processing of plant/soil samples and harvesting of trial plots.
- Data collection and processing to the required format.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, or be a quick learner to pick up the required skills to manage tabular data and basic data analysis.
- Full and valid UK drivers' licence and be able to pass G’s 4x4 driving assessment.
- Advanced English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work in both a solitary and team environment.
