- To teach and support students by adopting a learner-centred approach, delivering a first-class student experience.
- To undertake research, professional practice and enterprise activity as outlined within the BNU Academic Framework
- To be a team-player and contribute to the wider work of the School and University
**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role**:
**Education**:
- To undertake associated activities in connection with the courses taught including personal tutoring; student recruitment; assessment, review and evaluation.
- To achieve student satisfaction - demonstrating a commitment to ‘customer focus’ and contributing to the achievement of strong NSS results.
- Demonstrate inclusive practice in curriculum design and delivery. Work to eliminate attainment gaps.
- To contribute to Open Days, school, college and partnership links and the marketing and promotional work of the Department and/or School.
- To support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities.
- To deliver pastoral care to, and project supervision of, students.
- To plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including the use of Digital technologies.
- To provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance.
- To engage in professional development activities (e.g., CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
**Research and Professional Practice**:
- To conduct research and scholarly activity of relevance to the lecturing role and/or area of professional practice and aligns own research with their teaching and learning.
- To engage with relevant business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context.
- To engage in professional development activities (e.g., CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to research, enterprise and/or the relevant profession.
- To maintain and foster the high reputation of the University in practice partner settings.

- Demonstrate involvement in the support and development of Graduate Teaching Associates, contributing to the recruitment and mentoring of new colleagues, as appropriate.
