**About the job** YJS Practitioner (Qualified) - Grade 7**

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced Social Worker or Probation Officer to join the service.

This role requires an understanding of the criminal justice system as it affects children and young people (aged 10 -17) who offend. A practical understanding of the principles of restorative justice and restorative approaches is essential, and proven experience of working with disaffected children and young people. We need the successful YJS Practitioner to be able to evidence building positive relationships with young people.

**What We Are Looking For From You**
We are seeking a practitioner who:

- has experience of undertaking assessments and managing complex cases,
- has experience in planning appropriate and targeted interventions to reduce the risk of offending/re-offending.
- Has the ability to write high quality reports including preparing sentencing proposals and is able to present information to the Courts when required.
