Consultant Histopathologist

WUTH has an enthusiastic and dynamic Histopathology department who are looking for new team members to meet the challenges of increased cancer work and TATs.

Successful applicants will be joining a department of 8 WTE Consultants and can expect
- 10+ PA contract
- Flexible job plan

- General or sub-speciality work
- Individual office, secretarial support and modern microscope
- Involvement in teaching of ST1s and Registrars
- Full support with EQA
- Digital Pathology is being introduced at the Department
- Contribution to Autopsy Rota is desirable but not essential

The department undertakes coronial autopsies, in a recently refurbished mortuary, and is UKAS accredited. Approximately 6 trainees get posted to the Department every year. We have one BMS who has passed the Diploma of expert practice in Histological Dissection and has been contributing to the cut up for the last 2 years and we have another enthusiastic BMS who will be starting the Diploma in autumn.
