We are looking for an Editorial Officer to work in the Editorial Team in Qualifications Development.
- Be a knowledgeable voice on writing and editing standards.
- Carry out accessibility checks, identify and solve issues.
- Deliver feedback to colleagues on how to resolve issues and encourage them to follow best practice.
- Support continuous improvement by helping to review and improve editorial processes, publication templates and editorial guidance.
- Manage team mailboxes and workload trackers and provide general administrative support to the team.

You must also be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Strong editorial and proofreading skills.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of accessibility legislation, guidelines and standards.
- Able to manage and prioritise a workload with competing deadlines.
- Presentation skills to enhance the delivery of writing workshops and training sessions.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF level 8 or equivalent, or have relevant experience for the role, for example in publishing or journalism, including digital.

Also, you need to role model the behaviours associated with SQA’s values (Trusted, Progressive and Enabling) to help develop and sustain a productive and positive culture.
