If so, we want to hear from you A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Coding Assurance Specialist Auditor to lead and continue to develop our Coded Data & Standards Assurance Team of approved and junior auditors to achieve and maintain their approved auditor status and professional registration.

The Coded Data & Standards Assurance (CDSA) team was established to provide independent assurance of coded data using clinical coding analytics and benchmarking alongside audit. It monitors the quality and the accuracy of clinically coded data to ensure that the national standards for recording and categorising information to support care delivery, statistical analysis, research, and reimbursement are being applied across Northern Care Alliance.

This post is open to existing NHS Digital approved clinical coding auditors who are looking to progress their coding career into this specialised field with opportunities to develop leadership and analytical skills and to work alongside other Informatics and Digital disciplines to further enhance their knowledge.

All applicants must hold Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) and Clinical Coding auditor status, with experience of leading audits.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will play a key role in developing and managing the CDSA team in delivering a programme of clinical coding, and data quality assurance audits including validation, correction of clinical coded data in line with national standards and trust local policies to support the attainment of the highest levels of data quality assurance.

You will support attainment of key organisational priorities, including financial and performance metrics, as well as foster continuous improvement of coding data quality.

You will bring your expert knowledge of classifications and coding to support the wider organisation by assisting with FOIA and other data/information requests on an as required basis.

- Proven experience in leading clinical coding audits - both for DSPT and financial audits.
- Use of Microsoft Office software package, particularly Excel, Word & PowerPoint

**Desirable criteria**:

- Recent experience in managing/ leading a clinical coding and/or audit team.
- Experience of using SQL
