As a Brokerage Officer, you will provide a dedicated service to vulnerable children & young people purchasing effective care and education arrangements following an assessment

**What does a Brokerage Officer do at the council?**

Hillingdon Council have recently centralised the Brokerage and Direct payment model and function in order to develop and standardise practice across both Children and Adults Services. An integrated service will allow the council to work in a more proactive way with partners across the market; ensuring there is a range of quality provision for service users to access.

As part of this new model, we are looking for a vibrant, forward-thinking person to come and join our dynamic and friendly Adults Brokerage Team, as a ASC Brokerage Officer, to help source suitable placements and Home Care for Older People and to support Children's Brokerage services when called upon.

The aim of the 'Brokerage Officer' role is to be able to find and source timely placements and set up homecare packages that are able to meet the need(s) of the individual adults, deliver value for money and most importantly help to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable Adults.

As part of the role, you will be working closely alongside various Adults Social Care Teams and other internal and external stakeholders to develop good working relationships; identify any gaps in the provider market; negotiate on placement / package costs and undertake checks on provisions to ensure that they are safe and suitable to use.

**About you**

You will be managing your own caseload, including a mixture of both same day and planned referrals. If you decide you want to be part of our team, you will be fully trained and supported within your role. You will be joining a team of other experienced and dedicated Brokerage Officers.

The role is hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days office based at the Civic Centre, Uxbridge.
